SINT MAARTEEN : WHEN TO GO

What is the Best Time to Visit Saint Martin?

The island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean is a tropical and warm destination. You will enjoy pleasant weather all year round, with temperatures ranging from 29 to 32°C (84 to 90°F). The water temperature is approximately 26°C (79°F) and can rise a few degrees during the wet season. Note that from January to April, the season is considered dry with less rainfall. The highest rainfall rates are from July to November.

For travelers with flexible dates, we recommend traveling in May-June when prices are often more attractive and the island is less crowded (fewer people on the beaches, on the roads...). The so-called cyclonic period in the Caribbean is typically from July to November, so you can enjoy ideal weather conditions (water at 28/29°C and air temperature at 31/32°C).

Major Events

The life of the island of Saint Martin is marked by several major events. The most important is undoubtedly the Saint Martin Carnival. In the French part, it usually takes place in early March, while in the Dutch part, it is held in late April or early May. You will undoubtedly appreciate the energy emanating from this colorful event, enjoyed by locals and travelers alike. One of the particularities of the Saint Martin Carnival is its "Carnival village," which brings together kiosks offering catering services, a concert stage, exhibitions, the nerve center of the carnival in short.

Another flagship event on the Saint Martin calendar is the Heineken Regatta. Every year for the past 40 years, this event has taken place in March and brings together over a hundred sailboats in a convivial atmosphere.

Finally, in terms of music, the SXM Festival has been bringing together electronic music enthusiasts for 5 years now. In a paradisiacal setting, the SXM Festival takes over several spots on the island with a carefully curated lineup, an event in Saint Martin not to be missed!
