The canal de Beauregard, also known as the canal of slaves, is a hiking along an irrigation path which used to carry water from the forest to the Caribbean coast. This path takes its name from hundreds of slaves who built it up it even though it is situated in a steep hill. You will reach the departure point by following the Chemin du Canal des Esclaves up to the Maison Rousse. You will certainly enjoy the beauty of the landscape overlooking the Carbet river valley. Be careful if you have vertigo, because you will walk on a thin low wall between the path and... the emptiness !
